Book coaches serve multiple functions: we can help you work through difficult scenes, provide feedback on chapters as you complete them, and motivate you to keep writing even when it feels difficult.

As a book coach, I work with authors who have already started writing their manuscripts—whether that's completing Chapter One, or Chapter Twenty-Five. You don't have to have your entire story plotted out; if you're a discovery writer/write by the seat of your pants, that's totally fine! I can't, however, help you solidify your book idea or figure out your characters; that type of book coaching is best done over Zoom, and at this time I'm unable to do video calls.

What I ask from all authors is that if they do have plannio signing a contract, the Step One is an author sends me their manuscript, along with any other relevant plotting or planning documents, and a list of specific issues they're struggling with, either in general, or in the specific scene they'd like help with.

I take a week to look through these documents and familiarise myself with the story, and then I'm ready to start guiding an author through a sticky scene or commenting on their most recent chapter.  ​​​​
